“One world, all in green”

We are right in the fundamental transformation of our energy supply: The old energy sources coal, oil, gas and uranium are running out. They are being replaced by the renewable energy from solar, wind, water, biomass and geothermal energy. In the foreseeable future, the renewable energy will be our primary energy supply.

When economic and social fields are in transition, there would be lots of considerable resistances - as well as in the energy sector. Therefore common efforts to reach the right decisions in energy policy are strongly required. The International Renewable Energy e.V. acts in this process significantly as an umbrella association of a successful and pioneering branch.

We make worldwide in politics and technology for the rapid expansion of renewable energies strong, particularly in Europe (e.g. Germany, etc.) and in Asia (e.g. China, etc.). We provide arguments and models for the development of our energy supply. We represent the interests of companies, which make us internationally competitive and promote climate protection. We are building a great platform, where the companies in the field of renewable energies are able to contact and communicate stronger and better.

Umbrella association of renewable energy branch

The International Renewable Energy e.V. was founded in 2015 in Germany as a worldwide common advocacy organization in the renewable energy sector.

The statutory missions of IRE are to improve the framework conditions for renewable energy and to enforce its priority over other energy sectors. As an umbrella association the IRE coordinates the individual activities of members towards policy, innovation and public as well as promotes cooperation and exchange of experience in the renewable energy sector.

Over 120 of individual members and companies are merged totally in IRE. Board of directors of IRE manages the association together. Experts from worldwide organizations in field of renewable energy are gathered here. In the board of directors all five divisions of renewable energy are represented. The experts on the topics of wind energy, solar energy, bioenergy, geothermal energy and environmental heat and hydropower support the board of directors with their professional work. The executive Offices in Berlin and Beijing organize the activities of the association and comply with the resolutions of the board of directors.

Members with voting rights could be all organizations and associations, which support the targets of IRE and whose purpose is also the promotion of renewable energies. The ordinary members’ assembly takes place once a year. It decides work program and budget as well as selects the board of directors.

Companies and individuals can support the IRE as sponsoring members, when they respect the targets of IRE.
